The Reps for the various areas in the Midlands are listed below and it's also noted if they are elected BMF Councillors - see "The BMF Council" for more information. If there is not a Rep for your area, contact the nearest Rep or Roger Ellis our Chairman. If you need advice or support or just have something you want to say, contact one of the Reps. In other cases contact via our Regional Chairman

Regional Chairman Roger Ellis

As Chairman of Region 3 my first responsibility is to provide support for the region's reps. This may be providing up to date information on biking issues, reporting to the reps on issues raised at BMF Council meetings or providing materials to be used by reps at local shows as well as taking their concerns about "their patch" back to the management team at BMF. It may be in the form of 'a shoulder to cry on' - I am a good listener and I am available to both reps and members at all reasonable times.
My second responsibility is to promote, pursue and protect the interests of all riders of PTWs, by working with local councils to ensure that the motorcyclists gets their voices heard when it comes to transport and highway issues.
It is time that our voice was heard, we all need to blow our own trumpet on the benefits that we can offer society and I look forward with working closely with all members to achieve the above aims and to keep the BMF as the largest rider's rights organisation in the UK.

Deputy Chairman, Leicestershire Ken Wells
ken.wells@bmf.co.uk
0116 241 7744 As Deputy Chairman of Region 3, Ken's job is chief enforcer for the new chairman - beware the baseball bat hidden behind his back. When not busy "enforcing", Ken can also be contacted as the Rep for Leicestershire and general "font of all knowledge" about motorcycling issues (words supplied by the webmaster, as Ken was surprisingly reticent to provide his own entry).

Coventry and Councillor John Nelson
john.nelson@bmf.co.uk
I got my first bike (a Bantam) in '71 and have always had one or more bike on the road since. Currently running an '03 Triumph Tiger 955i and a '72 Daytona. There are also a few old ones in the shed in various states. I have been active in Triumph Owners Club for a long time and got involved with BMF first through representing TOMCC at BMF meetings. Recently became a BMF rep because my city didn't have one and I had the feeling that one was needed.

Nottinghamshire Stephen Lacey
yecal@tiscali.co.uk 01909 530 723
Living in Worksop, I am in the far North of the county of Nottinghamshire. I have been a BMF member as long as I can remember, but I have a short memory, I have represented the BMF for a while now as an area Representative. I am addicted to bikes and am passionate about protecting our rights to continue with our chosen form of transport. I am keen to see much better parking provision and facilities to encourage more people to use PTW's as a form of transport.

Living in Worksop I first got into biking in 1992 riding a CZ125, after passing my test I upgraded to a Suzuki GS550. Took quite a break due to starting a family and re-took my position in the saddle three and half years ago so you could class me as "born again". A demonstration ride from Notts Advanced Riders during one of their open days inspired me to take the Advanced Riders course which I passed in 2005. I currently ride a Triumph Sprint ST and also own a 1978 GS500 which some would say has been in bits for far too long. I am very passionate about riding and keen to see that bikers rights are protected and that facilities are improved.

Staffordshire, Councillor & member of the Disciplinary Committee Chris Jackson
chris.jackson999@btinternet.com
01782 397 858 Just to prove the BMF is not full of pipe smoking BMW and Goldwing owners I am a committed sports bike rider currently owning an R1 and a Ducati. I have made it my goal to ensure PTW's in Staffordshire are considered an integral mode of transport & consequently given due regard in both current and future transport policy and provision. Progress includes the introduction of secure bike parking in all areas of Stoke, provision of both pothole and fuel spillage hotlines and creation of the Stoke Motorcycle User Group (SMUG). I am hoping to enable these facilities to be made available throughout Staffordshire and to promote all other reasonable PTW schemes wherever possible.
